Organization Description
Virgin Islands Search and Rescue (VISAR) is a non-profit, non-government voluntary organization dedicated to “Saving Lives at Sea.” It is the officially recognized search and rescue service in the British Virgin Islands. It provides 24-hour SAR cover every day of the year in close cooperation with the Royal British Virgin Islands Police, Fire and Rescue, and Ambulance Services. VISAR also has a close working relationship with the United States Coastguard and is internationally recognized by the International Maritime Rescue Federation (IMRF) as a full member.
